Ways you can get involved
Become a member.
The best way to be involved with CTACEWN is to join as a member. All individuals who identify as a woman and who work in higher education in Connecticut are welcome to join! Your membership provides access to resources, discounted conference registration, webinars, mentors, and more.
Become an institutional representative.
Institutional Representatives (IR) are key to the development and implementation of the strategic plan of CTACEWN. This role serves as an advocate for the interests of women's leadership development and advancement in higher education at their college or university.
The IR's appointment recognizes the critical role they have already played at their college or university, by identifying and developing women’s leadership issues on campus, while encouraging higher education administration and decision-makers to advance women into key leadership positions in higher education.
Some of the responsibilities of an institutional representative are:
Identify participants and provide information to women on campus regarding the activities of the CTACEWN
Distribute news and information from the CTACEWN about professional development opportunities, activities, trends in higher education, and other relevant topics
Establish and build relationships with women in key leadership roles on campus
Inform the institution's president and provost informed of national and CTACEWN activities and seek support for participation where appropriate
Urging women on campus to apply for vacancies on your campus and at other institutions of higher education
Serving as an advisor to the CTACEWN board
Serving as a mentor to aspiring women leaders
